Environment
Italy was known to be the home of the centre of politics of the Western civilisation: Rome, as the capital of the once powerful Roman Empire. When the rule of the Roman Empire ended, Italy was besieged by many alien peoples, such as the Normans and Lombards.
The country regained its stature as it gave rise to the Renaissance at the end of the 13th century. However, no matter how many notable events made up the course of the history of Italy, one thing remained unchanged: the beauty of the environment in Italy.
Italy is located in the southern portion of Europe, and its territories include the Italian Peninsula (which is known for having the shape of a boot), and the islands of Sicily and Sardinia, among others. Due to the country’s location on both the Eurasian and African Plate, Italy is also a site for seismic and volcanic activity.
The climate in Italy differs in certain portions of the country. For example, inland cities can have a continental climate, while coastal cities enjoy a Mediterranean climate. Italy is also rich with different flora and fauna, both of which supplement the environment in Italy. Two thirds of the fauna in Italy are insects, while the rest are divided into land or water-based animals.
While on holiday in Italy, you can enjoy the surrounding environment when you stay in Bed and Breakfast Italy. Not only can you live in a home, but you can also easily ask your hosts information about tourist attractions near your lodgings and about the area you are staying in.
